Deep plane facelift is a surgical procedure performed on deeper tissues compared to traditional facelift methods. This technique rejuvenates the face without creating an artificial appearance and provides longer-lasting results than other facelift methods. It rejuvenates not just specific areas but the entire face, enhancing skin elasticity and achieving a more youthful appearance.
During the surgery, an incision line is made starting in front of the ear, following around the ear, and blending into the hairline. The deeper facial tissues (SMAS layer) are lifted upward and repositioned. This eliminates sagging and results in a younger look. After the deep tissues are tightened, excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin is stretched to reshape the facial contours. Similar to body surgery, laparoscopic surgical techniques with smaller incisions and less invasive methods are also used in facelift surgeries.
Post-surgery, swelling and bruising may occur in the facial area. This typically resolves within a few weeks. Stitches placed during the surgery are usually removed within 7-10 days. Most patients can return to social activities approximately 2 weeks after the surgery.
